Blue Top Ridge in Iowa Opens with Four News Holes

It's not everyday that a golf course has to reconfigure itself to accomodate mother nature.  It's more like the other way around or so golf course architects think.

Riverside, Iowa's Blue Top Ridge, which opened in 2007 and sees approximately 15,000 rounds played each year has had to contend with the Iowa River.

According to :

"This past spring Blue Top Ridge unveiled four new holes. Part of the course’s original front nine was positioned by the Iowa River. After flooding in 2007 and 2008, however, course officals decided to purchase the additional, higher land."

The article also talks a little about some of the top Iowa courses like Amana Colonies Golf Course and Hunter's Ridge Golf Course and what they have to do to open up.
