Easy to find, just a couple of minutes north of Beaver Dam and approximately 50 minutes northwest of Milwaukee, near the world famous Horicon Marsh (recognized as the largest fresh water refuge in the US) a few miles away.

The golf course was built in the 1960's as a 9-hole design, but currently presents itself as an amiable 18-hole layout. "A lot of course on a little acreage" is an accurate description of this semi-private 6,000+yard layout. Bordering Beaver Dam Lake, the 133 acres lead you down fairway hallways bordered by mature tree walls toward small greens, all defending the character of this compact design.

Off-line drives are mostly recoverable to well-maintained fairways and do not inhibit adjacent hole play. Putting surfaces are conditionally blemish-free, elevated and sloped with half of the holes protected by well-placed bunkers containing sand that is uniform and consistent.

Highlighted holes include two realistically drivable par 4's (Hole #'s 3, 8) offering a great straight tee shot resulting in a realistic chance for eagle (Speaking from experience).

Hole signage and distance markers are excellent. Most holes have partial cart paths giving good direction to the next hole. Electric carts are well maintained with good value rental prices, although the course is definitely "walker friendly".

Comments solicited from local playing members ranged from "great affection for the course" to "the constant course improvements by ownership". Family friendly programs are available to couples, youth, men and women. Youth and women players are anything but scarce here but did not impede our round in the least.

The pro shop is an adequate size and necessary stock. The bar and grill is large and well-equipped although food service is unavailable during the week before 4 PM.The clubhouse is large and "dated" in design and appearance. The size allows the facility to support many community sponsored events during the golf season and throughout the year. There is no bag drop, and no driving range connected to the property. A practice range is available however a few minutes' drive away. The practice green is adjacent to the clubhouse.
